Chad

Located in northern Central Africa, Chad is a fascinating region which caters to travelers with a yearning to explore some of Africa’s least-known but most spectacular wildernesses.

The country has several regions, including a desert zone in the north, arid landscapes in the central areas and a fertile savannah zone in the south. Lake Chad in the extreme west is the second-largest wetland in Africa.

Tourists are generally blown away by the savannah scenery, high wildlife densities and quality of accommodation in the Zakouma National Park in Chad’s south east. African Parks has done an incredible job of eradicating poaching in this special reserve, creating a safe haven for four of the Big Five (lion, elephant, buffalo and leopard), as well as huge herds of plains game and a dazzling array of birdlife (373 species). This largely unexplored wilderness is every true nature lover’s dream.
