Walking with habituated meerkats in the Kalahari

The Kalahari desert in Botswana and South Africa is home to a number of meerkat colonies which have become used to people and therefore allow remarkably close approach and observation. These adorable small carnivores live in groups of up to 40 individuals, digging complex tunnels in the Kalahari ground. Visitors are able to sit quietly, watching and photographing these families as they go about their busy lives.
